backWestpark
Designed on the occasion of the International Garden Exhibition IGA in 1983, the Westpark has become a green oasis, a colourful mixture of botanical garden, park, recreational area and location for multi-cultural events. On the 72 hectares (ca. 180 acres), you will find two beer gardens, two cafés, many footpaths, a big lake and several ponds. In summer theatre performances, concerts and open air cinema sessions take place on the lakeside stage. Especially interesting is the west side of the park with its East-Asian ensemble of Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, Thai Scale and Nepalese Pagoda. Here, many Asian ceremonies are regularly held. Another Westpark treasure is the Rose Garden with more than 20,000 roses. The 4 Star ArabellaSheraton Westpark Hotel is situated right next to the park.
